Day 1 - Antelope Canyon photoraphers' tour - About 2 1/2 hours
This Antelope Canyon tour is designed for experienced, professional or keen photographers only. Please note, though, that it is not a photographic workshop. Your Navajo guide is not a professional photographer, but can give you tips about the canyon.
Between March 1st and September 30th the photographic tour departs at 11.30 a.m. to get you to the canyon prior to noon. You will travel to the canyon entrance in a specially converted four wheel drive vehicle. From there, you walk into it. Weather permitting you can capture the first shafts of lights coming down through the canyon walls for the first hour. The colors are more vibrant in the second hour (reds, blues and purples). You will be in the canyon for approximately 2 hours. The total tour time is about 2 1/2 hours long.
Between October 1st and February 28th the winter photographic tour departs at 9.30 a.m. During these months the shaft of light does not occur as the sun is traveling more over the southern hemisphere. Colors at these times are more pastel (pinks, yellow, peach and orange).

Antelope Canyon can only be visited using the services of an authorized Navajo Nation guide, and you will have an authentic, experienced Navajo as your guide through the canyon. Antelope Canyon is essentially a spectacular petrified sand dune, created by wind, water and sand, presenting a sculptured masterpiece.
You will be at the bottom of the Canyon looking up to the top. There is no hiking or climbing involved, but only easy walking on the canyon floor which is mostly level.
Antelope Canyon is one of the most striking slot canyons known to man. A slot canyon is a narrow canyon sliced through a mesa by the forces of nature. Some canyons measure less than a yard across at the top, but drop a hundred feet or more from the rim to the bottom. Slots are cut and scoured by water and wind, with the striations of the sandstone becoming almost incandescent. From within you will see a palette of colors transmuted by light filtering down from above and bouncing from wall to wall.
A sturdy tripod, and cable release for your camera are a must, as are plenty of memory or film! At the end of your visit you will be taken back to Page.

- This tour is subject to a $4 per person fuel surcharge.
- Payment And Cancellation Details: CANCELLATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED FOR THIS TOUR. Changes will also not be accepted, and refunds will not be given. Please consider purchasing trip insurance as our cancellation policy is strictly enforced. Your card will be charged within 12 hours of making the booking. The credit/debit card used must be in your name and must be present, so we can take an imprint. Please contact us if this is not possible. Please ensure you have the card you used with you. If the card is not in your name please let us know ahead of time, as our credit card authorization process will need to be completed.

- Departure times: March through September at 11.30 a.m. The departure time is 9.30 a.m. during the other months.
- The rate for children from eight to 12 is $38. Children ages three to eight are $32. There is no charge for children two or younger. Please note in the comments section if there are any children, as well as their ages.
- The price includes taxes and Navajo Nation fees.
- You will be away from Page for approximately 2 1/2 hours.
